Sunday-Family Day

While we were down in Arizona we stayed until Sunday and enjoyed spending more time with family.  We stayed at Grandma and Grandpa Richardson's house.  Calvin took Lacey out and took pictures of her while I got ready for Church.

We enjoyed spending time with family.  We have to soak up what we can get!

We also went over to Grandma and Grandpa Reed house and had some more fun with cousins.

Reed Family Rodeo

Every year Grandma and Grandpa have their Reed Rodeo. It is just a family type rodeo and all the kids love it and so do all the adults.  We had it at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  We were able to drive to Arizona to participate and we loved that Ben went with us!

Daisy loved watching all the festivities from one of the old wheelbarrows.  It was perfect for me because it kept her in one spot.

Grandpa Reed also took a seat in the wheelbarrow next to Daisy.

We started off with the three legged races.

Brooke and Nich's kids thought that holding hands would be good enough.  :)

Mayley and Lacey came in last, but the had fun!

Lacey had to take a break from the races in the wheelbarrow.

Cute little Madi.

The sack races were fun to watch.  Some of the kids got going really fast and took a few falls.

Daisy thought she would join the races.

We also had wheelbarrow races.  Adults and kids loved this one.

Uncle John had Karlee on his shoulders while he pushed the wheelbarrow.  We were all laughing!

Daisy just wanted to go slow and enjoy the ride.

Weston, Lacey and Mayley.  Weston did such a good job at being gentle to the girls.  He even managed to get Lacey to hold his hand for one small moment.

We also did a water balloon toss.

Afterwards, they got the horses out and had lots more fun!  We can't wait to do it again next year!

Our Spring Break

We loved our Spring Break! The best thing about it was that Ben had vacation that week as well!  That doesn't happen very often, so we thoroughly enjoyed our time together!

We decided to take a trip to Arizona to visit family.  We stopped by the Gila Valley Temple and took a few pictures...

Everyone had to "touch" the Temple.

Mom and Daisy

We stopped by the dollar store and everyone had the chance to pick one thing.  Lacey picked these bunny ears.  Her birthday was on Easter this past year and she felt a connection to the Easter Bunny.

We also stopped by a small lake (if it's allowed to be called a lake) and everyone had fun skipping rocks and just relaxing.

The girls even participated in the action.  They were able to find some really good rocks to throw.

Ashton brought his sling shot and got a little practicing in.

We all loved stopping by Matta's and eating lunch.  It's a family favorite!
All the boys enjoyed stopping by Bass Pro Shop and looking around.  That place is amazing!

Overall, our Spring Break was great and we were sad to see it come to an end.  We look forward to our next break with Ben!

Open for Business

One day back in March we decided to "Open Shops".  Every person decided what they were going to specialize in.  They worked on products or services and everyone was given $100 in play money.  You could make money and spend money.

Caleb opened a hair salon.  He put up ideas of how you could get your hair done and he would do it...for a price.

Ashton owned a sports arena outside and organized a football game in which you had to pay to get into.

Devin owned a concession stand and sold snacks at the football game.

We didn't get pictures of everyone's different trades, but here they are...

Carson was a DJ.  He played music the entire time and you could pay him to run ads for your business.

Calvin ran a Pet Shop and you could buy stuffed animals and food and cages for them.  He had them all set up in cages.

Lacey and I sewed little satchels for putting all their money into.  It was really fun and such a good learning experience for them.  I was surprised at the creativity of everyone and the different ideas that they had.  They realized that  you had to work hard to make money and help others as well.

It was fun watching the football game as well...

Day Trip to Vinton, NM

Living in El Paso puts us right on the border of Texas and New Mexico and Juarez, Mexico.
We have had a lot of fun driving around and seeing new places.  Towards the end of February, we drove to Vinton, New Mexico (which isn't very far at all) and enjoyed driving around the town.

There are so many old buildings and such character in that town.  We stopped and played in an old park.  It was kind of run down, but the kids loved it.  And right across the street was the cemetery, so we just had to walk around the cemetery.

We also stopped at a family owned Nursery and bought a few plants.  We had such an enjoyable time, especially since Ben was able to spend the day with us, and that doesn't happen very often.  Being an OB/GYN resident really takes up time.  :)

A Day at the Park

Right now I am playing catch up. So this is a post about a day that we spent in the park back in February.  We walked to the park near our house and had a picnic and played.
